Despite the windy conditions, fishing was decent. Sunday we fished around Big Break, Franks Tract, and Little Mandeville Island and caught 10 bass. It was slow in the morning, but once the tide started to push in, we caught fish. Frogs worked when we got out of the wind, and spinnerbaits worked on the windier banks. At the end of the day I caught a 6.5 on a senko. Monday we fished around Little Franks Tract and caught 15 bass up to 3.5 pounds. Chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits worked well because of all the clouds and dark sky. Areas with current near spawning flats were the key. We found that the cleaner weeds without all green slime produced more bass. Every bass we caught on Sunday and Monday had already spawned. We looked for beds, but only found empty nests.
