Saturday the 26 myself, and two other anglers,
Nick and Steve, got to the Lake Sonoma at around 7am. We had post-frontal conditions, with partly cloudy
skies and a light north wind. The
water temp was 52 degrees with 2-4 foot clarity. Our first stop was a big flat with a few scattered rock
piles, in the Warm Springs Arm.
The bite was on, and in the first 20 minutes of the day we landed 7
bass, a mix of large-mouth and small-mouth. We fished 3/8 oz. jigs and Dry Creek Tubes fished in 1... Continue reading ...

Great day of fishing, 27 bass for three anglers. All were at least 12" and the largest was around 2.5 lbs. Jigs, tubes and crankbaits worked best. Water temp was 50-52 and visibility was 4ft main body and 2ft in the coves. We fished rock piles with flats and ledges in 5-15 feet of water. Continue reading ...

Been bass fishing at Lake Anderson four times since the beginning of the year, and every time out the bite has been pretty good. The water level is low due to possible repairs to the dam this winter. The water clarity is around 2-4 ft., and has been clearing since the beginning of the month, now that we’ve had a couple weeks without a storm. The bass definitely like these sunny days. They seem to be most active during the middle of the day, on south facing banks with rock. I see fish s... Continue reading ...

May 9-10, 2010 California Delta
Despite the windy conditions, fishing was decent. Sunday we fished around Big Break, Franks Tract, and Little Mandeville Island and caught 10 bass. It was slow in the morning, but once the tide started to push in, we caught fish. Frogs worked when we got out of the wind, and spinnerbaits worked on the windier banks. At the end of the day I caught a 6.5 on a senko. Monday we fished around Little Franks Tract and caught 15 bass up to 3.5 pounds. Chartreuse spinnerbaits and crankbaits worked... Continue reading ...

Started down south, but ended up catching all the fish, 9 or 10, near Franks Tract between noon and 5pm. Jigs, Senkos, topwater and crankbaits caught all the bass. Missed a nice one on a Lunker Punker. The largest was just over 4 pounds. Focused on the flats near deep water and current. Continue reading ...

Friday, we launched out of Russo’s Marina at around 7:00 am. This past week has been the first warm stable week of the spring. There was a couple ours left until the bottom of the tide, so we focused on offshore grass in Franks Tract. Throwing LV 500’s and spinnerbaits, we catch a couple small bass (maybe keepers). We move south and fish a couple spot off Old River but have no luck. At the bottom of the tide we stop at Cruiser Haven and look for bed fish. After 10 minutes of frustra... Continue reading ...

It’s been a cold week for all the anglers fishing the Bassmaster Elite Series. By looking at the weights these last few days, it’s obvious the weather has affected the fishing. Thursday we launched out of Orowood at 9:30, just as the tide was starting to come in. We made a short run to Holland Riverside Marina and caught a few small bass on spinnerbaits. They were positioned on the deeper points right at the mouth of the marina. We then went to another similar spot just up the main... Continue reading ...

We launch out of Red Bud Park, at the south end of Clear
Lake, at around 9 am. The water is
much clearer compared to last week, with the algae bloom being a little less
intense. We start off fishing jigs
shallow on rocky banks in Jago Bay.
By 10 am we each get a couple bass, but nothing larger than 2.5 pounds.
We then fish some deeper rock (10-20) around Wheeler, Gooseneck, and Frasier
Points. We caught a few more bass
a drop shot and shaky head, but still smaller fish (1-2 lbs). Decid... Continue reading ...

An unusual September storm just passed a couple days ago. We were faced with post frontal conditions, but it was still quite warm for being 8:30 in the morning. There was absolutely no wind and the water was quite clear. Our first stop was on a big weedy flat that had a nice ledge that broke off into the main lake channel. A few bass were busting bait, but they would not hit any of the topwater baits we threw at them. I should have maybe scaled down the size of our lures. The baitfish th... Continue reading ...

Stayed in the Red Bud Arm both days. We fished many rockpiles and ledges between Gooseneck Point and Windmill Point. When the wind blew crankbaits and spinnerbaits worked well. Shad and chartreuse colors worked well. When the wind died we switched to dartheads and jigs, brown/orange and brown/purple. We also caught a couple on buzzbaits near Konocti. About 20 bass each day, with the largest 5 going 18-19 pounds each day. Lots of three pounders. Continue reading ...

Started at the mouth of Skiers Cove and caught a few on topwater, Vixens and Poppers. Went up north to Putah Creek and caught a couple more on senkos on the bridge pilings. Worked farther up Putah Creek and waisted 3 hours, no fish. At 1pm we went back out toward the main body. After being dead calm all day, the wind finally picked up. Fishing main lake ledges we caught about 15 bass in the next two hours. DD22 crankbaits caught a few 2lbrs, and the rest of them were caught drop shoting... Continue reading ...

Launched at Orowood Marina and headed south to Widow Island. Fishing a Lucky Craft BDS4, David caught 2 nice 5 pounders. It was high tide and we were fishing a big grass flat with 3 or 4 feet of water over the tops of the weeds. Continue reading ...
