September 3-4, 2009 Clear Lake

Stayed in the Red Bud Arm both days.  We fished many rockpiles and ledges between Gooseneck Point and Windmill Point.  When the wind blew crankbaits and spinnerbaits worked well.  Shad and chartreuse colors worked well.  When the wind died we switched to dartheads and jigs, brown/orange and brown/purple.  We also caught a couple on buzzbaits near Konocti.  About 20 bass each day,  with the largest 5 going 18-19 pounds each day.  Lots of three pounders.

January 27,2009 Lake Anderson

Sure seems like it's going to be another dry winter.  Lake Anderson seems like one of the few likes that might survive a rainless spring.  The island top right outside the 5mph zone is still submerged, which means we have at least another 40 feet until the end of the ramp.  Which isn't to bad for this time of the year.  Other bodies of water such as Lake Oroville are in survival mode, 240 feet and dropping!  Everyone needs to get outside and do a little rain dance.

January 7, 2009 Lake Oroville

Fishing the first half of the day on the main lake in front of Potters Cove and Canyon Creek,  we caught 7 fish.  Two of the bass were around 2.5 pounds and were caught on jigs.  The others were caught on 6 inch roboworms on a dart head.  Mid day we ran all the way to the back of the Middle Fork and caught about 20 more spotted bass on tubes.  The key was to find the sandy washes between the big boulders.  We would throw our baits to the sand pockets, work the lure down to about 10-15 ...

January 5, 2009 Lake Berryessa

Caught about a dozen fish from 1-2.5 pounds.  All three species were caught. Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted.  We stayed around the narrows and fished tubes, jigs, and dartheads on main lake points.
